Very rarely offered, and something of a mystery. According to ‘Snowdrops’ by Bishop, Davis and Grimshaw, it was introduced by Richard Nutt from Hopa, Turkey, and is thought to be a hybrid between G. woronowii and G. rizehensis.

The leaves are deep green and supervolute, and the flower has a single green inverted V at the apex of the inner segments. It is approximately 10cm high at commencement of flowering .
Galanthus Richard Nutt's Green-leaved hybrid

Galanthus rizehensis Baytop

£15

SOLD OUT

Remarkable, rarely offered form collected by Prof Baytop in 1976. It is a triploid variety, possibly a hybrid. Much bigger and sturdier than normal G rizehensis, this makes very large bulbs. The leaves are broad, short and prostrate at flowering time which make a beautiful foil for the upright flowering stems which rise to about 15cm. Multiple flowers are usually produced per mature bulb. The flowers have a single inverted horseshoe mark over a deep, narrow sinus. The tips of the inners are flicked outwards. The outer segments are rounded and of good substance, and the spathe is straight. Galanthus rizehensis Baytop
